o3 evals on FrontierMath being done pass@1 is quite honestly the most disturbing aspect of this. Why aren't more people talking about it? And also that we're likely close being able to have end to end AI-driven AI research given that SWEBench score??

If we think that the world has changed because of the advent of science and technology and whatnot, that is somehow a more modern, more empathetic, more free world, then we're kidding ourselves. It is just as feudalistic, just as brutal as it was. Who can look at Gaza and say Enlightenent Now?

Exactly…& acknowledging this context does not somehow imply that killing civilians is acceptable or justified….in the same way that these acts of terror don’t justify genocide or war crimes (or advocating for them)…
There is no question that Israel’s 50+ years of occupation and apartheid created the conditions that made something like Hamas’s incursion inevitable.
But, I don’t think killing civilians at a music festival is justified because it’s part of a resistance.
Seems pretty basic! And worth saying.

DIVINELY ORDAINED RIGHTS DO NOT EXIST BECAUSE DIVINITY DOES NOT. What does exist is human suffering, human rights, human sentiments, and human responsibilities. All of which the state of Israel seems to have lost sight of at this point. This is pure bloodlust. #EndTheOccupation

I think its finally time to quit the other platform which is going down the drain anyway. Sigh. Academic twitter was really good though. I hope people find community here or on some other platform.
