Renfrewshire’s 2025 events programme attracted more than 120,000 visitors to the area and generated millions of pounds for the local economy.

The programme included 14 free-to-attend events and expanded into Erskine and Linwood for the first time.

West Johnstone Early Learning and Childcare Centre was presented with a trophy for their outdoor learning and forest kindergarten experiences.

The nursery was awarded the Alba Trees Early Years’ trophy at Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards 2025.

The books were given to schools, nurseries, @weareoneren.bsky.social libraries, Renfrewshire Promise Champions, STAR Project, Home Start Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire Toy Bank, and more.

Renfrewshire Youth Voice brought forward a motion to councillors at December’s Council meeting, supported by Provost Lorraine Cameron and Councillor MacFarlane.

They also gave a presentation on the importance of youth voice and local democratic processes.

Councillors have agreed to donate £10,000 to Renfrewshire Foodbank to support growing demand during winter.

Six play parks in Renfrewshire will be renewed as part of our programme to provide fun and welcoming places for young people and families.

Work on the parks will begin in early 2026 and is due to be completed by late spring.

Work on the next stage of Ferguslie Park's regeneration will begin in January 2026.

The Belltrees project will turn derelict land into a multi-functional greenspace with a natural play trail and event space.

Work is expected to be completed in summer 2026.

A new active play will be built in the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley.

It will include a sensory area, soft play, a new TAG Arena and free play.

The contract for the works has been awarded and the active play is expected to open in late summer 2026.

Work is underway to create a new cycle hub, seasonal information kiosk and public toilets at Castle Semple in Lochwinnoch.

Free parking is being extended during December in Paisley town centre council car parks.

It will be free for up to 2 hours from 1 December 2025 to 3 January 2026.

The scheme aims to encourage more people to visit the town centre and spend local.
