We are, w/ increasing speed, moving towards a time of violent protest and revolution as people of various privilege grow tired of working for an equitable society and marginalized communities grow tired of waiting for progress that feels like it will never come. #ThisIsAmerica

NEW: Some farmers keep growing in flood- and drought-prone fields because subsidies soften the losses, while federal programs meant to help them change course have been underfunded and mired in bureaucracy.

Under Trump, those programs may weaken further.

Wait, elected officials can’t encourage voting? What the hell is going on in NC? What the hell is going in this country?
North Carolina Republicans proposed an election bill banning officials from encouraging voter turnout. This "anti-democracy tactic" raises concerns about who holds power.

If passed, it could inspire other states to follow suit.
