If you can self-verify your worldview even if it’s fundamentally incorrect that means a lot more than being fed perfect knowledge if you’re unable to independently validate it from the first principles of your intuition.

You don’t need a browser because IRC was more than enough. You don’t need a GUI because text was more than sufficient. You don’t need an automatic transmission because a manual one does the job. You don’t need a car because going on foot will get you there.
