Let's go back to the early 80s:
My pick would be Heart Like a Wheel starring Bonnie Bedilia, Beau Bridges, Leo Rossi, and Anthony Edwards.

However, I've got a soft spot for Six Pack with Kenny Rogers(!), Barry Corbin, and featuring Anthony Michael Hall and Diane Lane, when both were super young.

Was this before or after he said that calling Good's killer a murderer was inflammatory language?

Confronted the tanks. Dear Lord autocorrect is terrible.

* - They didn't kill him during the incident. It's not clear what happened to him after he contributed the PLA thanks. In some reports, he was executed within days or weeks. But we really don't know for sure who he even was.

Not to undercut your core message about how shitty ICE is. . .

Even in context, the very next line is still a doozy: "Rest assured that your Sheriff’s Office remains vigilant every hour of every day to keep your families safe."

One of the most outwardly masculine guys I met last year is a former Marine who sews and has tiny pet bunnies adorned with pretty bows that he loves so much they travel with him.

Amazing! Thanks for writing and sharing.

When was it developed? I have a memory of having both eggnog and "pumpkin pie" lattes in the mid-1990s (in Seattle, not Starbucks). The pumpkin was terrible, so thought it strange when they later became so popular.

I also acknowledge that memory is a funny thing and maybe this didn't happen at all?

That's even worse than the TJ's on Columbia Pike in Silver Spring, MD, which is comically terrible. It shares the tiny lot with several other stores and restaurants. . . BUT, there's a few spots shoehorned next to the delivery dock in the back alley if those are full!

Also, not shocking:

You're a serious person; it's obvious.

There's a bunch Biden could have and should have done, true. That doesn't available the GOP of reversing course on Trump by 1/21/2020.

You think Congress was going to do something about Israel or Trump? That's so naive it's absolutely adorable.

And, two weeks later, almost the entirety of the Republican Party changed their minds and his career most definitely wasn't over. This notion became even more entrenched before the articles of impeachment were even delivered to the Senate.

"Created the conditions" and "a major culprit," are nowhere near the same things. If you can't understand that, then I suppose your understanding of just about anything is permanently damaged

See how that works?
December 8, 2025 at 12:40 AM
Counterpoint: Believing Biden's presidency "created the conditions" in the first place demonstrates the limited worldview that is likely far more to blame for allowing Trump to sweep back into power.

This is brilliant stuff for a show caught on a handycam back in 1995.

I saw them in Portland on this tour and was initially disappointed to learn our tickets were behind the stage. However, they were front row and elevated above the stage, and the backdrop dropped during the second song, giving us a perfect view of everything. They played with so much energy, too.

Being a TA isn't for everyone, but she seems like a natural and gifted teacher. I wish I gave feedback this good when I was a TA in grad school.

Starbucks employees escalated their strike on Black Friday, expanding to 120 stores and 85 cities.

Their CEO took home $96 million while refusing to negotiate a living wage for workers.

Boycott Starbucks. Stand with the employees.

When I lived in DC, they drained and cleaned the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool once a year (maybe it was every two years?). About 10-15 years ago, it was closed for an extensive period for repairs.

Is Trump just announcing regular maintenance like he invented it?

Sports fans being angered when calls go against their favorite team/player is quite the hot take. You sure you don't want to walk this one back?

It would be catastrophic. As it is, it's bad enough when half your economic growth is delusional speculation.

Lecturing at people is basically what Tom excels at. If you don't like it (or, better yet, don't want to deal with it), you can always unfollow, mute, or block.

There are times where I've exercised some of those options.
