Why do you go by your handle?
My handle is a combination of my real name and Remilia from touhou. I cosplayed her the first time in 2015 and our cosplay group just naturally called me "remi"
But there's a lot of "Remi's" online so I added parts of irl name to make it personalized

Why do you go by your handle?
i was trying to come up with a good nick when i joined IRC for the first time, and I was staring at a bottle of superglue on my desk. "cyanoacrylate ester" sounded pretty cool so I typed it all in
and then that server only allowed 9-char nicks so it stuck

i liked this salad at this local restaurant that they called "spicy papaya salad" even though it didn't have any green papaya in it. it just used som tum dressing.
