A poem inspired by reading about how doctors interrupt patients on an average approximately 18 seconds after the patient starts speaking. It also applies to personal relationships! Apologies to @drkathrynmannix.bsky.social for plagiarising the title of her brilliant book. #poetry #medsky
A poem written in response to a photograph sent by my friend, of a rose blooming in her garden in North America after the recent snowstorms. I loved the sheer bloody-mindedness of it 🙂 #resilience #poetry

Collage of autumn leaves made with tea and coffee and a spoon and felt tip pens, done at the workshop by the wonderful Liz Atkin, organised by Dr Nicola Davis and Dr Aruna Stannard who run the Creative Clinic, a wonderful initiative for creative activities for doctors. @creativeclinic.bsky.social

#gardenshour Green green grapes waiting to ripen! The Clematis Armandii is threatening to crowd out the grape vine, I’m letting them fight it out.

We completed the Tour du Mont Blanc, a trek up and down the French, Italian and Swiss Alps surrounding Mont Blanc. We trekked approx 170km (105 miles) in 10 consecutive days, with an elevation gain and loss of around 10,000m over the whole trek. A truly challenging but stunningly beautiful trek!

I saw this moth which has the perfect colours to camouflage itself as a fragment of an autumn leaf. So beautiful…. Anyone know what this one is called? #moths #entomology

Walking through beautiful farmland on the North Downs Way… lots of hills to climb on this 18 km circular route, but worth it for the views from the top! #walkingforwellbeing #nature

#ForestFriday

The woods they call me day and night,
This forest bathed in golden light.
The gentle breeze, the soft warm air,
Where butterflies dance, as I stop and stare.
I walk, I pause, and touch tall trees,
I feel the knots within me ease.

A great way to destress after a long all-day clinic, a walk round the lake in the local park followed by time on the swings! Funnily enough, I saw the Action For Happiness daily prompt telling me to do something playful, after I got home! #walkingforwellbeing #nature @actionhappiness.bsky.social

I completed the Yorkshire three peaks challenge yesterday, on the summer solstice day! The weather was dreadful, with the heat wave followed by thunderstorms, but we made it… The beautiful views of the Yorkshire dales kept us going. #Yorkshirethreepeaks #trekking #Yorkshiredales

Who knew snails could climb this high? It sat at the top of the window enjoying the view for a while, before making its way back down slowly.

Beautiful North Downs walk; nature has painted the bare branches with delicate shades of green, and bluebells carpet the woods. The many uphill climbs were worth it for the gorgeous views from the top. #walkingforwellbeing #nature #NorthDowns
