I'm still gagged by the Dexter S6 therapy arc wherein Debra is forced to realize she's in love with Dexter. Like, I knew something was going to go in that direction when the S6 recap included Dexter's S1 "if I had feelings for anyone, I'd have them for Deb", but STILL!!!!!!!!

Thinking about my friend's friend who was new to comics & somehow under the impression that DC used to just have Batman and Robin being a romantic relationship in the 50s. She was so serious about it and clearly confused and uncomfortable. Took all my self control to answer her questions seriously

KATSEYE's Gnarly is a tongue-in-cheek ironically vapid song put out by a company that essentially owns South Korea's media industry (or as much of it as money can buy), it's mixed ethnicity group doing impressions of Koreans doing impressions of Black artists, it's a fascinating cultural artifact

I think games using their battle mechanic as a story segment is good and fine (none of our attacks do any damage! we're so beaten and bloody we can't even hit the enemy!) but I don't like winning a proper battle and losing it in the cutscene lol

I'm a little bummed out by [End of Act 1 Spoiler Thing] in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I think I can grow to like the new one because the writing in this game has been charming enough, but I really liked the old one

Two ways to cast Heathcliff well— 1) prioritize letter-accuracy and cast someone who could reasonably be *gossiped about as being* Roma, "dark-skinned" in 1850, etc, 2) you exaggerate/modernize his otherness by making him a dark-skinned man of a not-white ethnicity because film is a visual artform

My final score for Pentiment is a very generous 6.5/10. I feel wildly frustrated with it to the point of wanting to be needlessly insulting, but the world, setting, imagery, music are great and I shouldn't deny that just because it struck a chord with me in a very negative way.

I wish someone would've told me that an entry level job is not the lowest paid version of what your education is meant to prepare you for but 1) free labor or 2) some shit you're wildly unqualified for that is needed so desperately that they'll pay pretty much anyone to do it
