How's the constitution holding up? And can we expect the Supreme Court to take any meaningful steps to curb Trump's assaults on liberal democracy? Today I'm joined by @evanbernick.bsky.social for a deep conversation about the state of the rule of law, and how to think about its future.

The future of liberalism depends upon the coalitions liberals can build, both to defend institutions now and to reform them when the time comes. How to have intra-liberal conversations is the topic of today's episode, featuring @mattpolprof.bsky.social and @mattzwolinski.bsky.social.

One of the reasons much of the liberty movement failed to take seriously the rise of authoritarianism, and is failing to respond adequately now that it is here, is, as @cathyreisenwitz.com and I discuss, because of a persistent blindspot for seeing politics through a cultural and psychological lens.

The right talks about loneliness, family, and meaning, winning over people the liberty movement often ignores. Can radical liberalism offer better, freer answers to these deep social questions? My conversation with @cathyreisenwitz.com explores this.

Many libertarians focus exclusively on the state's coercive violence. But what if the non-violent, cultural forms of oppression are what create the conditions for statism to thrive in the first place? My latest episode delves into the cultural prerequisites for a free society.

Is the struggle against patriarchy inseparable from the struggle against the state? This week's episode explores the deep connections between feminist and libertarian critiques of power, arguing that the culture enabling one also enables the other.

Today's episode of the show gets meta. Podcasting has been a big part of the narrative of "What went wrong?" about Trump's reelection: right-wing pod bros dragged young men to Trump, the left needs its own Joe Rogan. So my producer @landryayres.bsky.social and I talk about the politics of podcasts.
