Her works were grounded and beautifully direct. There’s real emotional weight in her stark minimalist stylings. Absolutely tragic loss of a unique artist. Reading Blue in high school was one of the eye openers to how much manga was truly out there

The best games I played this year were The Silver Case, Flower Sun and Rain, The 25th Ward, Killer7 and The Binding of Issac (which I’ve been playing for the last decade + in some way)

I really liked what little there was of Virgin Punk so far, and I hope we get more sooner rather than later. Really felt like an old OVA that somehow got made now. Umetsu still pouring his heart and soul into girls with guns exploitation films. God bless

Jacob’s Ladder is like 4 movies Frankensteined together and I’m not sure it really works from a critical standpoint, but i wouldn’t really be into movies without it. plus it’s Silent Hill. Literally they lifted stuff from the hospital scene and put it in Silent Hill 1.

You should really give this a watch. It’s like a Kazuo Umezz manga but done with paper cutouts. Loved the unorthodox style and when real life “fluids” get mixed in with the “animation”
