The MG is running a Hyper 9 Netgain motor with a Tau controller. Take a look at thunderstruck motors as they have a good range or EV West in California.

EV conversion motors are not the same as factory EV motors. They are really ICE replacements. Max RPM รฌs around 8000 so agearbox still makes a lot of sense. The power profile is similar to an ICE motor except you have full torque from the first revolution.

Iam currently building a 1956 MGA conversion with an MX5 gearbox.

Iam currently building a 1956 MGA conversion with an MX5 gearbox.
It runs a 96v ac51 which produces 88hp and 108ft-lbs of torque. Coupled to the standard 4 speed box it is lots of fun. Range is probably 150kms but would depend on highway/local driving. Locally it is too tempting to blow away ICE junk at traffic lights so charging regularly.
