Today, we solemnly honor the lives of transgender and nonbinary people lost to violence, discrimination, and hatred. Transgender Day of Remembrance is a time to reflect on the real dangers that trans communities face and to commit ourselves to action — to speak out against injustice, to support trans lives, and to build safer, more inclusive communities. We affirm that every person is made in the image of God.
