Huge thank you to #WashingtonCounty, PA for using my book #LilyandthePaperMan during your Hunger and Homelessness week to raise awareness about the increase in food and housing insecurity. @secondstory.bsky.social Video on Instagram (where I'm not) and Facebook for more info. #kidlit #cankidlit
Looking forward to Paul Coccia's upcoming debut #picturebook next month: The Bear Fairy. #kidlit #cankidlit 👇🏻
I know Paul Coccia's debut #picturebook doesn't come out until Feb but THE BEAR FAIRY (illus by @fredblunt.bsky.social) is too important (and adorable) to wait. From Tundra Books (PRH Canada). Can a pudgy, hairy fairy break stereotypes? YES! canlitforlittlecanadians.blogspot.com/2026/01/the-... 👍🇨🇦📚

I'm really enjoying this book, Seasons of Wonder. I've been searching for more meaning in my life & this book is so inspiring. I love the idea of "making the ordinary sacred".

Hazel doesn't fit, at school, out in the world, even at home. When her best friend Jack changes & then disappears, she goes after him entering a world of dark fairy tales. Anne Ursu's writing is alive with imagery & Hazel's voice, true to childhood both aware and inexperienced. #SnowQueen #kidlit 📚👍🏻

The Last Last by @wendyjwhittingham.bsky.social and Brianna McCarthy turns the bittersweet of leaving one home to the sweetness of greeting another. I especially loved how the birds, although different in each location, provide connection. #kidlit #canadiankidlit 📚👍🏻

finding @teresarobeson.com's video of the titmouse, um, refreshing - (revitalizing!). "joie de vivre"!
It’s Saturday again. I feel like life is passing me by.

But…

A thought provoking, layered #YA novel by @torreybalsara.bsky.social, #TheGreatandtheSmall with captivating illustrations by the author. Two points of view: a human girl & young rat, each navigating buried trauma alongside external threats in their intersecting worlds. #kidlit #CanKitLit 📚👍🏻

The Love Song of Mr. Byrd by @phdowding.bsky.social with illustrations by Caroline Clarke is a balm for the soul. A reassuring story of friendship: poignant, lyrical, wise in an empthetic perspective for young readers. I loved this book. Much needed in our current world. #kidlit #canadiankidlit 📚👍🏻
