Even though I’ve been running Castles & Crusades for a number of years now and it’s my “D&D” of choice, I constantly reread parts of the PHB and CKG. It helps to further internalize rules and procedures. It’s also the rare game where I read every spell. ⚔️ #CastlesandCrusades #DnD #ttrpg

I’ve been spending a lot of time in d100 RPG land again recently: reading, studying, and prepping. I’ve been especially focused on RuneQuest, Jackals, and HarnMaster. I absolutely love these games and systems. I’m also starting to (finally) read Zweihänder. #ttrpg #RuneQuest #Harn #Jackals

After 2 years of designing and playtesting, book 1 (the “PHB”) of my OSR game “Falenburg” is done. Next up is finalizing book 2 (the “DMG”) which includes compiling a few years of playtest notes, thoughts, random tables, etc. A lot of book 2 is already done. #OSR #DnD #ttrpg

I’m bummed I missed out on GameHoleCon due to illness. Next Cons won’t be until spring, when I’m planning on attending GaryCon and DaveCon. Until then we’ll be gaming through the fall and the long, cold Wisconsin winter.

This evening’s reading is Empire of the Petal Throne. After speaking a lot with Victor from the Tékumel Foundation at ArneCon last weekend (and getting some great tips), I’m motivated to want to get the system and especially the setting down enough to run some sessions with EPT. #DnD #OSR #ttrpg

I’m using @dysonlogos.bsky.social B/X character sheets for my OD&D campaigns. It’s not a 100% matchup, but 99.9% and the slight differences are negligible. I just find it visually extremely appealing and the players are able to put all important info on a page with room to spare. #DnD #OSR #ttrpg

I’m throwing together a short notice OSE game for this evening. Since I’m not sure if this will evolve into anything long-term, I’ll be running “The Incandescent Grottoes” and set it in the amazing world of Mystara. ⚔️ #DnD #ttrpg #OSR #OldSchoolEssentials
