Real Stories. Real Impact.

I didn’t grow up with science textbooks that spoke to me.
So I wrote them. These books aren’t just for reading. They’re actionable tools to empower our next gen.

Real science. Real consequences.
You spend months writing the protocol, prepping reagents, calibrating the pH...
And then someone uses TAP WATER for the buffer.
No words. Just that look.
Special thanks to Inu the Chiweenie.
She now holds the unofficial title: Principal Investigator of Vibes.

“You gotta fight… for your right… to SCIENCE.” 🧪⚡

This is how we build experiments that explore behavior, networks, and survival logic, one plate at a time.

Support science.
Support minds that move differently.
Support the weird, wild research that just might change how we see the world.

STEAM SEED Day at Honeybee Robotics

World-changers became real scientists: testing soil after the fires, analyzing microbes & logging data that revealed a story of ash, plastic, & need to start healing.

This is how we grow future world changers.

What does critical thinking look like?
My work always begins with:
Why? How? What if?

It helps us test, not just trust.

We don’t just need more scientists.
We need thinkers who build better futures.
1. Raise problem-solvers.
2.  Nurture curiosity.
3. Teach the process, not just the protocol.

From the Bronx to the lab with my eyes still set on the stars.
Honored that my short documentary is a semifinalist at the Brooklyn International Short Awards.
Thank you @Studio311 + my sons.
This story is about resilience, science & belonging.

Fighting for my family’s future, my own future, & countless lives Alzheimer’s threatens science is not optional. It’s urgent.

Science can do extraordinary things. But only if we fuel it.

Cuts to science funding cut the future. They cut the cures not yet discovered, the answers not yet found.

🐾 Recharge mode: ON.
Nothing like a tug-of-war with my dogs after a week in the lab.

When science loses funding, so do real answers for families facing Alzheimer’s and cancer. Want a future with hope? Support research.

Funk, Worms, and Science in Motion
They’re tiny.
They’re mighty.
And they’re helping us understand memory, soil health, resilience & maybe even life beyond Earth.
🎶 “People get up and drive your funky soul…”
Especially here.
Because in this lab, movement matters.

P.S. Those “resurrected” dire wolves?
Actually just edited gray wolves which is cool, but not true de-extinction.
The real dire wolves were a genetically distinct species. #JustSaying

Science, Partnership & Family
30+ years married.
And for the first time we’re doing research together.
He’s a Chief/Principal Engineer guiding spacecraft across the solar system.
He’s my field engineer, supporting my soil science and climate research in the field.

Can you guess how long before I can eat this carrot?

When is a carrot truly ready?
Let’s turn this into a living experiment.
Because science grows from curiosity and so do we.

Taste the Protons
Testing the soil’s pH: 4.43 — acidic.
“Tasty,” he jokes.
He’s not wrong. That sour tang? It’s protons. The same subatomic particles that make sour gummy worms.

In the lab. Lights off. Scope on.
This isn’t a moment for show.
It’s the quiet part of science. The real part.
Where questions meet the unknown and I keep going.

I’m a scientist.
From the field to fluorescence. From soil to systems.

Science moves. So do I.

I suited up not just as an explore but as a scientist on a mission.
I scanned Arctic water pulled from 30 meters deep. Within 30 minutes, I had my answer:
Micro&nanoplastics present.
With snow falling on a glacier, I analyzed Arctic soil on site—plastics detected again. @fredofmars.bsky.social

Engaging Girls in STEM 2025 – LA Zoo
Honored to serve Ambassador, alongside 2 brilliant Caltech scientists, at an inspiring event hosted by LA Zoo & the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
We show future world-changers that science isn’t just for someone else.
It’s for them. It’s for all of us.

Two suitcases. One worm. A thousand data points.
Where the wind whispers soil secrets and microplastics hide in the most unexpected places.
Now I head home to my University where microscopes, sequencing runs, and students await.
From ice to insight. From soil to stars.

As a girl, I cut snowflakes from paper.
Now I catch them with a microscope… in the Arctic.

Each one lands perfect, fleeting, real then melts away like a memory.
This is more than beauty. This is citizen science in motion.
This is why I research.
