Interesting... I've always viewed it in a trilateral way, Americans 'won' against Britain proper because they achieved many of their goals for trade and recognition, but lost against British North America (Canada) because they were beaten back and didn't achieve their goals there... am I off-base?

Corollary to this, why did USA lose it's shit over Charlie Kirk? Why was he so popular? Being an urban, eastern Canadian it's perplexing. I only knew of him from USA media, but seems like his shtick was being a jerk to students on campus? How did that become an icon for American Christianity?
