Congratulations to Priyamvada Natarajan, winner of the AAS/AIP 2025 Dannie Heineman Prize for Astrophysics.
Why is it imperative that gravity waves travel at the speed of light. I realize that it is a tenet of General Relativity and it is my understanding that the speed of a gravity wave has been confirmed, but why is it a necessary speed limit for a propagation of disturbance of space itself? Thanks.
