After listening to a public radio bit with people saying what effects would be of no more internet, I saw this in my office's copy room. We're ready.

I checked out a CD audiobook of a Carl Hiaason book, thought about where my portable CD player might be (and whether the batteries are corroded), and went to Best Buy. "I might be from the wrong century," I began, and asked if they have them. Maybe online, the clerk said. Yep, wrong century.

With hope of getting back in shape, I bought an electric bike to assist my peddling up the considerable hills on the way to work. Went great for a week, then rain, then the time change. Now the ride home would be mostly in the dark, and these old eyes may not see the potholes and cracks. Next year!

When I checked after midnight and saw a tie in inning 15, I thought maybe I need to pick a fave (the Cubs being out). How? Go with Canada because Trump is shitty to them? Or go with LA, because Trump actually is occupying it with troops. Boots on the ground point the way: Go Dodgers!

Another way to look at the frog resistance in Portland is that the aspiring monarchy is using the slow-boil approach to lull us into staying in the pot while they turn up the flames of fascism. Confronting the stormtroopers as inflated frogs is saying, "We won't be boiled!"

Prediction for the next 13 months: ICE and military will ramp up vastly in blue areas, to the point that it will seem normal. Then during early voting and election day, both will be heavily present near polling places in blue areas to sweep up or scare away anyone who looks like a Democratic voter.

Military officers told to lead troops in a war inside the US against the "enemy within" (i.e., people who disagree with Trump) must either violate their oaths and obey him or obey their oaths and resign, which diminishes the military's ability to fight foreign enemies. We lose either way.

I went into work later because of a utility appointment, so I couldn't compare the morning commute after the Rapture with normal.

Snopes blew its fact check on Noem and South Park. Instead of confirming she said only liberals criticize women's appearance, it should have pointed out some of the many times the right does it. E.g., Trump repeatedly discrediting female critics or accusers by mocking their looks.

I have to thank a bunch of folks on a thread I wandered into for reminding me why I left various previous forms of social media because the bickering over fine points of perceived difference just raised my stress level and wasted vast amounts of time. Time for a sabbatical. Maybe finish my novel.

The purpose of the birthright guidelines is to boost the deportation count by letting ICE snatch 1 or both parents and baby from maternity ward.

Earlier today I replied about what I tell religious proselytizers at my door. Well, couple hours later up show 2 young ladies in the horrid heat saying they want to tell me about Jesus. My dog is erupting. I say, "I'm happy with my current religion, now I have to walk my dog." They scurried.

Our newest outdoor kitten, Nubbies, has rejoined mom as a community cat. Her 3 siblings are watching suspiciously from a bush. They'll be tougher to catch.

My MSN news feed fed me an ad for a free AI Biblical Sermon Generator. Wondering what the catch is on the free part. Resisting urge to play with it to see what perverse sermons I can prompt it to churn out. Seeing potential for results contrary to expectations, like pre-Nazification Grok.

In an alternative universe, POTUS 47 flicks her brown hair out of her eyes and orders the US military to move food, medical aid and infrastructure into Gaza to save the people from starvation, and to push back against any military or militia that tries to get in our way.

After chuckling along with the late night hosts mocking the stable genius (with the MIT prof uncle) for not understanding that there are no numbers for reducing anything in terms of percentage higher than 100, I recalled (dimly) studying imaginary numbers in high school math class. Sorry Donold.

After their sibling instantly went in one trap, bound to get legalized as a community cat, these 2 saw its plight and carefully circled the other trap without going in. #catsofbluesky

The Pubes are scrambling so hard to keep the Epstein files hidden because they're sure Trump is splashed all over them.

I recently doubled my NPR local station donation to help offset fed gov's attempt to silence that necessary, objective source of news. Just now I heard on the local classical station that it is losing its fed funding too. So I called and doubled my contrib. Please, folks, bump your donations too.

There will be no real discovery in the libel suit by orange felon vs WSJ. It is a setup for paying T personally from funds of an ally.

I just doubled the monthly draw for my local radio station (Omaha) carrying NPR. I told the person answering the phone that somebody has to support it, if the government won't. Y'all chip in too, wherever you are! Don't let this objective and necessary voice be silenced!

Having been clued into the appropriateness of the term "cock womble" to describe 45/47 and other foolish men in his sphere, I asked my phone what the female version is. It took the space out of cockwomble and offered "twatwaffle" as the closest equivalent. As in US AG Twatwaffle. Spread the word!

Suggestion to reporters: Do a story comparing death threats received by reporters whom Trump calls "evil" compared with other reporters who ask him questions. Seems like a purposeful intimidation tactic. Not just dodging the question.
