I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

I’ve been following this story today. Teen Vogue was a breath of fresh air in mainstream media & featured some impressive journalism.

Watching them fire all the Black women & trans people who worked for them is devastating.

The importance of brave journalism at this time can not be overstated.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

I read Black Flame by @scumbelievable.bsky.social and The Reformatory by @tananarivedue.bsky.social both of which were incredible in completely different ways.

I went to Fright Nights at the PNE which was really fun and watched The Substance which was something 😂

For my first week of October I:

Started reading “Model Home” by @riverssolomon.bsky.social

Watched “A Quiet Place Day One”

And passed by this epic Halloween display!

I love Solomon’s writing and Model Home so far is no exception. The suspense is building! AQPDO wasn’t really horror 🤷🏻‍♀️
