many ppl dislike media with open endings or when things are implied instead of stated outright but there is nothing i like more than when Things Are Not Confirmed. give me the pieces and let me assemble them myself, ESPECIALLY when this allows for multiple explanations. i want to think!!!!!

finished incandescence, what an incredible book. will be thinking about this one for a while. funny that so much of the online conversations i could find about it focus on the physics segments, i personally found the questions it asks about curiosity to be a lot more interesting and compelling

I need to DNF more books... Incandescence has been excellent since page 1. Why did I waste so much time dragging myself through revelation space (and other mid books I've read in the past) for a tiny payoff at the end when I could have spent that time reading something much better

finished revelation space on the plane, it was... alright. the astrophysics speculation was pretty cool, which is what i expected give the author's background, but everything else was weak. possibly the blandest character work i've ever seen in fiction, everyone was a cardboard cutout lol

having a surprisingly nice time with my family this Xmas. thanks to my ostentatious and hedonistic uncle who made us bbq (with actual meat none of that hotdog and burger shit) and gave us lots of alcohol and also made me smoke a nice cigar for the first time in my life. And that was just for lunch

visiting relatives for xmas and life in a wealthy American suburb is soooo bizarre to me. Like American suburban life is bizarre to me in general but the Wealthy Suburban Lifestyle is what I'd see in American media growing up and as a child I used to think it was all made up
