I will be on stage at the Genesee Country Village's Fiddle and Folk Festival Saturday, August 16th. This is a show on the traditional fiddle styles of New York State's southern tier with lots of fiddle tunes to demonstrate this unique style of traditional folk music. www.gcv.org/event/fiddle...

I've adopted a "pet" spider, a Phidippus audax, an honored guest who doesn't make webs and patrols our kitchen, eating up flies and other noxious insects. They are remarkably intelligent, and this one allows me to touch it now that it's used to me. Link to info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phidipp...

Struggling to get the garden in this Spring due to the relentless rain. Worth the effort. Here is a photo of my vegetables from a couple years back in mid-summer. Wonderful food, and the exercise keeps me vigorous in my advancing years.

I "retired" from biotech in 2005 and started teaching at the Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts. 20 years on, I'm still bringing music into the lives of people in my community. Found this photo from my 2008 student recital. I was teaching mostly guitar then, but have added piano & violin/fiddle.

Rather than take classes & paint decorative images, I experiment with improvisational paintings. Instead of depicting what my eyes see, I paint what's in my mind. Example - "Nest in the Storm":
