Her meaning is clear, and eerily pointed regarding his own inner turmoil. It would be far better for Aventurine to find his own way back to the living. But Veritas is only a man. Never is that clearer than each time he comes face to face with Aventurine dangling himself over the brink. If his damned gambler cannot pull himself free from the abyss, then it falls to Veritas to make the journey there and back again for him.
