Unfortunately the planned play test yesterday kind of fell through. The event took a different direction and I didn't get a chance to have people play. I think I'll try to get a build live on Steam and see if I can get a few people to play online. #gamedev #indiegame

Just finished a build and I am ready for play test tomorrow. I expect current content to be around 1 hour of playtime and it will be very close to what will be in the demo. Test will show how close I actually am to be ready for release. I’m really excited but also very nervous #indiegame #gamedev

Folks, I did it! Been struggling with it for 3 months, but I finally put the intro cutscene in the "Done"-column. Still not what I hoped, but I don't hate it now. Will share, but waiting for planned feedback session on Wednesday first. Celebrating with much wine in 3, 2, 1... 🍷 #indiegame #gamedev

For my 500th post here I wanted to try something fun. Still working on the music for the intro cutscene, and while I'm practising and iterating over the composition, I thought I'd let you all see and listen. Piano is not my main instrument so cut me some slack on the technique 😅 #gamedev #indiegame

It tuns out that while the music I wrote for the intro cutscene was nice, it didn’t quite fit the mood. Too epic with an entire orchestra. I’m trying to rewrite for just piano + a cello and hope it fixes everything. Also, coffee at the piano is not the worst start to the week #gamedev #indiegame

Unfortunately, the intro cutscene experiment is not going well; not looking and feeling at all the way I wanted it too. I might get back to it. For now, I'll have to put it aside. Here are a few of the frames I actually like. Maybe they can be repurposed? #indiegame #gamedev

Refactored my SoundManager to play different background music and ambience layers for different game states or different game areas. Instead of having everything hardcoded like before, I now have scriptable AudioProfile objects I transition between. Took a lot of refactoring 😬 #indiegame #gamedev

Animating rain, lightning and fog on my main menu background this morning. Wrote most of the menu music as well and will record during the week. By the end of the week, the main menu will be a very chill place to just hang out. #gamedev #indiegame

It's time I updated the menu background. Over time the asylum has gotten bigger, and the old image no longer seem to fit. I'd also like to make the whole thing a bit more detailed. Since it doubles as the game capsule, I'll invest some time to it. Here's some work in progress #indiegame #gamedev

The main menu is the first chance to show that your game is high quality. So I've worked on transitions. I calculate a random noise texture and use it to dissolve all my images, texts and other UI elements, using a few custom shaders. More work to be done, but what do you think? #indiegame #gamedev

Working on shaders for my UI tonight. I have over an hour of playtime in the demo, so I’m focusing on polish the next few weeks. Will show some progress shots soon, but I broke all my UI elements and nothing works right now 😅😅 #gamedev #indiegame

While everyone is starting their yearly health transformation this week, I started mine last spring. Just reached the 30-week streak of at least 2 rides and 2 hours. In the best shape of my life, and very proud of myself! Now back to some #gamedev

Basic map navigation is done. Going to add some animations at one point, but with a play test deadline on the horizon, it's not really need to have atm. Functionality is solid and everything is generated automatically from my levels #gamedev #indiegame
