Stay away from those people who try to disparage your ambitions. Small minds will always do that, but great minds will give a feeling that that you can become great too.

RaphaelDiego As a surgeon, I often ask myself, “ Is this the right thing to do?” Is this the right decision for this patient?” In my world, I put ego aside, confer with my colleagues, and then make a decision based on the information at hand. Now I think I have a fair amount of knowledge and experience, but I never claimed to know it all. I try to make sure I tell patients to get multiple opinions so they can feel comfortable with the decision they have to make. This older gentleman had been suffering from intractable neck and arm pain. Tell me life isn’t worth living if this continues. Fast forward to today. His arm pain is resolved, and his neck pain that was once a 10/10 is now 2/10. He told me today that he has signed up to check skydiving off of his bucket list and just wanted the ok from me. It warms my heart to see a man go from feeling hopeless to making plans and fulfilling his bucket list. This is what it is all about. Living my life on purpose.
