One month ago, the ‘Microkosmos’ exhibition opened at the Drents Museum.
A year prior director Harry Tupan and curator Annemiek Rens invited me to contribute. With intern Nina van de Vijver, I immersed myself in a new chapter of Terra Ultima and into a new field: film.

One year ago, I unearthed a strange object. This find sparked an investigation to it’s origin, captured in a short film and culminating in a new painting.
Both film and painting are on show at the ‘Microcosm’ exhibition in the Drents Museum from this weekend on until 1 March 2026.

Chinese translation of the book about the discovery of Terra Ultima. The publisher has made great effort to make the book accessible to the Chinese readers. A letter to the reader has been added.

Inspired by this quote of Proust:
“The only true voyage of discovery, (…) would be not to visit strange lands but to possess other eyes, to behold the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others, to behold the hundred universes that each of them beholds, that each of them is.”
