Luc Besson's DRACULA, to borrow the words of another reviewer, is a "greatest hits" of Francie Ford Coppola's DRACULA-as well as some EXCALIBUR....and THE DEVILS!

It's not a bad movie.
It's just... Luc Besson making his own DRACULA.
So, you'll see it or not based on that.

When I do promotional events for my book, John Candy: A Life In Comedy, people often ask me to identify, out of the hundreds of interviews I did for the book, who were the most significant. Without hesitation, I tell them, Catherine O’Hara.

Just sharing this because I’m trying to work up to my next milestone which is 400 subscribers (free & paid). For some reason, I’m still getting hits on Substack but it’s so hard to build on Ghost. Doing my best to write about things I love so any subs are truly appreciated. 🖤 tinyurl.com/bde32x5h

RIFFTRAX has riffed THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL. First episode is now up for free on Youtube!

Matt Fraction and I contributed jokes to this.

My jokes start twenty minutes in and go to the end. It's always a thrill to hear the guys tell my jokes!

Apparently they found a better print of Manos and it’s getting a 4k restoration I’m so happy. That movie still sucks.

The weather the last week or so reminds me of the level of cold where you make sure your indoors before the sun sets...

...like some kind of arctic vampires move from the shadows and cold to stalk me.

Bought this off Gary Whitta’s shop last summer thinking it’d be a lark that I could wear three or four times before the joke got dated. But man alive, Pam Bondi and Kash Patel have worked really hard to make sure I get every penny out of this I can.

Next to the original, CONQUEST was always my favorite!
Even w/a diminished budget it has such a great retro-future feel to it.

And who doesn't love rampaging apes?!

Even back as a kid watching it on CBS, I *knew* something was wrong with the ending... and the revelation of it is pure 70s darkness.
this might as well be the best movie ever made

Gods, I love this movie!
Evening viewing recommendation? Before it leaves the Criterion Channel in February, watch Howard Hawks's noir masterpiece THE BIG SLEEP (1946). In their second immortal pairing, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall's innuendo-laden chemistry practically scorches the screen. ❤️‍🔥
