The death of science in the US will have long term implications. Geopolitically, ceding scientific leadership means ceding economic leadership. And in human health many more will die.

This is a tragedy of global proportions.

Canada is keen on Buy Canadian for the first time. Now we need to get serious.

Compared to Europe, where a mass movement to ditch American tech (Zoom, AWS, Google, Microsoft) for EU versions, we are just starting this journey.

I, like most angel investors, know that 'giving back' can both produce winners AND transform Canada's economy by helping more early stage innovation to thrive.

We must seize this moment, with Canada's worldview under threat, to help build Canada into the global economic powerhouse it needs to be.
This is a complex issue, involving many components. For investment, the gap (yawning chasm) is in the early stage (pre Series A). At Adrenaline, unlike many Canadian funds, we invest ONLY in Canadian startups at the rate of 10 a year. We are doing our part

There are a number of reasons why these challenging and turbulent times are the best time for patient early stage investors to invest in early stage tech startups to build long term leaders and long term value.

Great to see Toma Brava shares this thesis.
Totally agree that a few AI companies are in a bubble many times the Dot Com meltdown. Unlike that time, also strongly believe this has undervalued many other tech theses (incl. AI-driven SaaS) fuelling our conviction that now is perfect for early stage investment

Ditching Energy Star which saves Americans $500B and energy and known by 90% seems the height of insanity. For Canadians:
- we also rely on it and would need a replacement,
- ironically, program might be ripe for a reboot as I see the EU program as superior
