I post photos that I take… mostly of birds, animals and a little bit of landscape and astro…

I like to bake and hike… when I’m not desk bound for my day job in software.

Sometimes... when mother Nature starts the show before you get to the place you want to be… you get set up wherever you are, try to find some foreground and get to work ;-)

I normally don’t do too much of processing on my photos, but when I MUST do it, I just *LOOOVE* #affinityPhoto to do it for me - it allows me to go from this clutter to this frame in a matter of minutes and lets me have time to go out and shoot again ;-)

We are but a spec of sand in this world and yet we are capable of so much hate and carelessness that we are on the verge of destroying our world…

And then I invested in a wonderful, (relatively) compact and lightweight #nikon 80-400mm f4-5.6 which was an absolute joy compared to the 50-500mm. It is extremely sharp when stepped down though a tad slow to autofocus compared to what you get today and the […]

Very soon, I realized that if I want to shoot birds, I needed reach and so like an overexcited school kid, I went and bought the longest lens I could afford without doing any kind of research ;-)

This one is made with a sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 lens. Very quickly […]

Cannot help but realise that one can change the date, place and names of people and it applies to many countries around the world right now… How humankind is doomed to repeat the […]

Starting today is a series of posts in chronological order of my birding journey. I guess it all started with this sunbird that used to frequent the tree next to my balcony in Madras.

Shot with my very first DSLR - a #nikon #d40

Technology has improved leaps and bounds :)
That’s ISO 32000 and shot after sunset when only a dark silhouette of the bird was visible to the human eye :)
My #nikon sees in the dark almost like this burrowing owl :)
