Private equity firms are buying up Maine’s mobile home parks, raising rents and threatening one of the state’s last affordable paths to homeownership. A new Maine law gives residents the first chance to buy their parks before firms do in an effort to keep communities stable and affordable.

It’s good news that the Trump Administration is finally following the law and sending out partial SNAP payments. But it’s not enough. State lawmakers, including those in Maine, need to commit to funding the rest with our own money. No one should go hungry due to what’s happening in DC #mepolitics
The Trump administration will send partial payments this month to the roughly 42 million Americans who receive food stamps as the federal shutdown approaches its sixth week. The roughly one in eight families that receive SNAP may still be at risk of imminent hunger and financial hardship.
Trump Administration to Send Only Partial Food Stamp Payments This Month
The government said it would send the aid after a court ruled last week that it must preserve the program known as SNAP during the shutdown.

I heard recently that the Maine US Senate race could attract $600 million in spending. That’s obscene.

If you’re considering giving to a candidate, take a moment to think about how much good that money could do going directly to people compared to another drop in the tide of TV ads.

I had the pleasure of participating in Curtis Library's Candidate Night yesterday. It was great to meet some of you and to hear from the other candidates!
Fortunately for anyone who wasn't able to make it, the Candidate Night was recorded. It should be going up on Brunswick TV3 in the near future!

Maine's "Yellow Flag Law" requires law enforcement to initiate any protection order, but cops are notoriously hesitant to take action on something like this until the violence has occurred. Question 2's "Red Flag Law" would make it much easier to avoid tragedies like what happened in Lewiston.
Maine’s current law is ineffective and failed to prevent the tragedy in Lewiston. Yes on Question 2 would change that by empowering family members and law enforcement to intervene when someone is in crisis. Learn more and get involved at safecommunitiesmaine.org.

Brunswick, Maine just moved our only polling location to Brunswick Landing (by the airport).
This makes voting in person on Election Day much harder for any non-driving Brunswick residents. Easy access to absentee voting is so important to ensuring that Brunswick residents aren't disenfranchised!!

Maine’s history with the Wabanaki Nations is not ancient history. It’s a living injustice that continues to shape our economy and politics. The path forward is clear: return land, repair trust, and reform laws that have kept the Wabanaki from full self-determination. www.mecep.org/maines-econo...
Sovereignty Starts Here: Land, Economy, and Tribal Rights in Maine
Maine has profited from centuries of Wabanaki land loss. Supporting land return and sovereignty reforms is both a moral responsibility and a smart economic investment.
