I hear a lot about having constructive conversations despite disagreement these days, but I haven't fully figured out how principle-centered people can meaningfully converse with transaction-centered ones. Interested to hear others' thoughts on this.

The evolution of legacy media from mostly advertising-supported to subscriptions has driven what may best be called "sycophantic journalism." Basically, it's news organizations giving subscribers what they want instead of convincing them that the information they need is what they want.
