Golden Catch
An illustration by Spindle of the character Ottilie, a brown haired (appearing as orange here under the sunlight) human wearing a cultural blue outfit (as it's still the Loa days/the Harvest Festival) on a boat reeling in a black dotted yellow coloured fish. Extra lore: The fish is a variant of the black and white fish called the Blackspotted Halochre, this golden variant, which is considered a lucky catch in the folklore, is the Sundotted Halochre varaint. It has two cartilage-based “flare spines” on the top of its head that are bioluminescent with a shimmering rainbow veil around them; they act as "radars" that detect alterations of mana in the water and guide the fish to the prey. Each white spot on its scales contains a black pigmentation, acting like micro-eyespots to confuse predators.

Water Kiss

Surrounding them are spherical water blobs that are coming out of the water.* A volcano with fumes coming out is out of focus in the background. *Lore-wise they contain a type of mana-infused algae that absorb nutrients from the sheddings of the Harvest Sprites. They create a filament as they coagulate that eventually allows a blob to form and using said mana allows them to float above the water for easier access to airborne microscopic sheddings. Folklore wise they're called "Loa" and people believe they are born from the ocean itself celebrating the coming of the Harvest Sprites. Much like how the amount of Harvest Sprites is said to foretell the yield of the harvest, if a Loa hovers over a boat, it’s thought that the next fishing haul will be bountiful. Usually, Loas appear before the actual appearance of the Harvest Sprites, and once they do, they're called "Loa Days." #SpindleLore
