some of the people on this platform do not take abuse as seriously as they should and it disappoints me. people like shayy are outed as abusers and the first thing that they do is make memes like "why did chara make them do this?" or "shayy is not like us" even though they are an alleged rapist

a lesson i learned is that we have to teach people to be independent when we help them. we are not there to fix issues for them. we have to help them and hand them the tools to progress. we should still be there to support them with advice and such, but in a way which prepares them too

Part of me feels like Dark Souls wouldn't have caught on if the first game had difficulty settings. It'd be "cheap", "pointless", etc.
Arcade games had a relatively granular difficulty option via credit feeding and it played a big part in them written off as "button mashers"/"quarter munchers".
