It was a full table today at our Brisbane Writer's Crew catch-up. So many lovely people with several new faces and many repeat offenders. I came away refreshed and able to put that most recent rejection behind me! If you are in Brisbane and you write or would like to, you are most welcome.

I'm sitting on our back patio, wrapped in a blanket (because I'm a wussy Queenslander now) and enjoying the rain. I just love our new house SO much and it's very obliging of the neighbours to have grown that lovely pink frangipani for me to enjoy 😂.

Outlying is (mostly) done and I'm onto my favourite bit, the messy, vomit-y, hand written first Draft, with murders... naturally.

Went and did my Constitutional duty early and made an appropriately disgusted face when the elderly white lady from the No campaign tried to give me a how to vote pamphlet.

Well I was going to do some editing, but Reign of Fire is on so naturally I have to watch it! They do a solid job of making Matthew McConaughey less handsome than usual.

Today ended with an absolute cracker of an editing session! New dialogue flowed and two characters decided they were going to have a relationship I hadn't planned for them. I've always thought it was a bit naff when people talked about their characters going off on their own but I take it all back!

I'm having one of those days where the things I need to do feel overwhelming. So I don't do them and then feel guilty and stressed, which probably means I'm about to get a migraine 🙄. I did take the kids to my favourite local park which was lovely.

Had a bit of a heart-starter today. My laptop died (probably the battery) and all of my WIPs are on there. Some moments of intense fear, but I checked and everything was on the cloud!
