What modern psychology would consider to be “good” is, I suspect, some kind of peak average everydayness where Dasein feels fully at home. I suspect this is why my non-philosopher friends tend to say things like “all the philosophy will make you go mad”. It does the opposite, of course.

I wrote my MA dissertation on the hard problem of consciousness, but now, after two years of studying Heidegger for my MRes, I can no longer understand what the problem is. It’s like my brain has rewired itself.
