Screenwriter & Author. Maternal advocate. Ginger malcontent. Bios are hard.
The sun is shining, I made the Meghan cake, and tomorrow I *might* get the go-ahead to be weight bearing on my foot! It’s really the best I can ask for right now.

Holy shit, episode 7 of #ParadiseHulu is truly one of the best hours of television I’ve EVER watched. Hats off to Fogelman & the writers, and such brilliant roles for Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden.

Trying desperately to learn to garden, but with my raging ADHD, every video has me like this in 9 seconds…

I got an F on a poem because the teacher said it was “inexplicably good” and I “wasn’t that smart,” so I must have cheated. I was really proud of that poem.

Y’all, that post-surgery OC rewatch was a bad idea. Between the fall of democracy and the death of Marissa Cooper (and not being able to move…), I want to crawl under a rock. Please suggest something fun or at least not depressing AF!

Several times a day now, I reflexively open social media, see 9 new things have emerged from the Hellmouth, and then I close it again.

Welcome to Minnesota where, once again, my child has asked to wear shorts because “it’s hot outside.”

Do I have any fantasy-writing mutuals? I have a talented 13yo nephew who’s started writing fantasy, and I was hoping I could hire someone to give him some guidance/point jim toward further learning? Fantasy is not my genre, so I don’t want to steer him wrong!

I feel like a trip to a Wegman’s would fix me emotionally. Why can’t they move further West??

So many homes and places that have meant so much in my life - in so many lives - are just GONE. The latest fire has evacuated the house we sold in 2021, where my kids learned to ride their bikes. Where we hunkered down during the pandemic. I can’t fathom any of it. I 💜 you, LA.

Gute is a wonderful guy to work with and has such a deep of his neighborhood. I’m not at all surprised to see him staying and helping, though I hope he (and everyone else) is safe tonight.

7yo, telling his class about his grand European Christmas adventure: “You know the best thing in Europe? They’ve got a lot more stairs.”

No parenting book prepared me for a child becoming obsessed with Cotton-Eyed Joe.

Increasingly convinced every city needs their own Ferris wheel. (This is Budapest)

Someone please explain to me why my 7yo is watching a documentary on the stock market crash of 1929? He said he felt like he “needed to learn something.”

My neat new ADHD tax is that I keep throwing out the tops to things right after I open them. Butter, cream cheese, pickles. Got a lot of foil tops in the fridge right now.

When I first held my sweet babies in my arms, I had no idea 7 short years later I’d spend my Saturdays using a magic eraser to wipe their boogers off the walls.

You know you’re getting old when you chose the dance workout class because learning choreography is “good for brain health.”

Just finished the whole four seasons and I stand behind the statement that #FromMGMPlus is the best show you’re not watching. A little bit Lost, a little bit Fringe (with some horror thrown in), I can’t wait til next season.

The first ad I saw this morning: “is your makeup aging you?” I did not need this kind of violence on a Saturday morning.

My brain is so writing fried, I tried to suggest stuffed shells for dinner and could only come up with “taxidermy pasta.”

Minnesota is full on Wuthering Heights tonight. Let me mend some socks and stare wistfully out at the blowing snow.

Thanks so much to my child’s teacher, who told a class full of 2nd graders (but didn’t warn their parents) that if they left their boot out tomorrow night, St. Nick would fill it with candy and prizes.

Given the state of the world and, you know, EVERYTHING, I found out I need foot surgery at the start of the year and my whole reaction was “huh. Okay, sure.”
