WELL HERE IT IS… my latest wax (encaustic) painting : “The Spider Grandmother.” She is a prominent figure in Native American mythology, among the Hopi and Navajo populations . Shes a creator goddess, teacher, and protector, and embodies the art of weaving, symbolizing the interconnectedness of life.

4 years ago this day I finished this piece in Wax of my version of, The Two Fridas. I titled mine “ My two Fridas, a heart made of Wax” I love Frida Kahlo and this painting in particular tells her story and her inner turmoil. #rachelsantel

Hey everyone! Happy Friday here is my newest Sculpture that I decided to glaze and fire and this is the final result. My first ever animal sculpture.
I used an underglaze pencil for his eyes.

Here it is, my first encaustic painting of Hindu Goddess Lakshmi, titled “Lakshmi’s Emergence from the Samudra Manthana.” This legend tells of gods and demons churning the ocean of milk to obtain the nectar of immortality. During this, Lakshmi and other celestial beings emerged from the sea.

Good morning! Have you ever seen a BLUE BEE? I think this is a sweat bee . I’m not sure but I did find an article where they used to be extremely rare. If anyone knows for sure please let me know. It was beautiful!

My daily art share. This oil painting was inspired by Hamlet’s tale of Ophelia. She supposedly killed herself or fell into the lake and drowned. I decided to remake another scenario where she was saved by the Lady of the Lake.
