I did an event in October, sold a ton of books, and I am still waiting for that royalty report that was pulled at the end of December in case you think authors are doing well out here #booksky

My books were part of the LibGen meta theft including my self-published book that I wrote, edited, and designed the cover and after years of work, and very little money, one of the richest companies in the world stole it for their AI. #booksky

The draft is finally done! I struggled with this one more than I have with any of my other books. I changed narrators twice and tenses once but I am finally happy with the results. #booksky

Finished Faithbreaker, the last book in the Godkiller trilogy, and I am really going to miss sweary, angry Kissen #booksky

Tolkien made hobbits his heroes because they are impervious to greed, don’t yearn for power, and value friendship and simplicity over grandeur. The Hobbit is basically an anti-capitalist manifest. #booksky

I have to say, Tolkien is the king of having pages and pages and pages of worldbuilding and backstory and showing great restraint in not putting all of it into his stories #booksky

Reader confession…I’m currently reading the Hobbit and it’s the first time I’ve ever read it 😬 #booksky

I wrote a Letter to the Editor here in RI to talk about book bans and the upcoming vote on the Freedom to Read Bill. I’m heartbroken for kids who might see the same empty shelves I grew up with. www.valleybreeze.com/opinion/lett...

Books are not the enemy
On March 6, at the Statehouse, there will be a press conference for the Freedom to Read bill which would make R.I. a safe harbor for book creators and publishers

One way to resist? Read more, use the library, buy from local bookstores, post reviews, talk about the books you're reading, read banned books. Anything to do with reading, and books, they seem to hate. Stay educated, and continue reading.

Trying to find my #booksky people. These are some of my favorite books, most of them female led feminist fantasy. If any of these are on your shelf, we should be friends.

One day you are pre-gaming in your car before you go to the club and the next you are texting your spouse excitedly about the new vacuum.

Looking for fantasy audiobook recs but they have to be under 12 hours or I will not finish them before my loan expires. What have you got? #BookSky

I just got flagged on TikTok for making a sarcastic comment about climate change because of the Gulf Coast snowstorm. TikTok is not the same.

Quick question. Did we ever resolve the drones thing or did we just move on?

How are my friends in the south doing? If the snow hadn’t melted, these are my best novice tips.

- Car stuck? Take your floor mats out and jam them under the wheels for traction.
- Sprinkle kitty litter on icy walkways
- Any coarse salt will melt ice
- Stay inside if you can and stay warm!

Same with movies and music. I’ve had digital versions of songs changed to acoustic versions without my consent and movies with edited out scenes. I also have old CDs, books and movies that are not available digitally. Just think about the art that could be lost forever if we don’t keep hard copies.
now’s the time to start buying the physical copies of your favorite books, #booksky – they can take your kindle/digital copies away at any time

I love my parents. I just went to visit them and my dad asked, “Did you watch the coronation yesterday?”

I keep thinking about the future for DACA recipients. RI is a sanctuary state and my day job is at a non-profit that helps people get jobs. If you have any nursing or medical certifications and are bilingual, I can have employers fighting over you. Message me if you’re thinking about it.

You can just say “mom”
In your profile. You don’t have to specify “boy mom” especially since NO ONE calls themselves a girl mom. It’s icky. Like those dads that get pissed at gender reveals when it’s pink.

My library loans out sewing machines, fishing poles and a ghost hunting kit. Just saying. You’re missing out.
Good morning! This is your reminder to support your local library! Get your card and see what resources you have access to from programs and events to seed libraries, maker spaces and digital resources. Libraries are more than *just* books. (Although books are very lovely!)
