Award winning family solicitor at Watson Ramsbottom specialising in cases of coercive control, stalking and children. Chair of Paladin. Media commentator WatsonRamsbottom.com
Really enjoyed attending the Association of Lawyers for Children conference and presenting 2 workshops on coercive control and risk. Very well done to the organisers who did a great job in looking after everyone and ensuring it ran like clockwork which is no easy task for such a big event

This is only the tip of the iceberg as it ignores repeat victims which women in particular are most likely to be. We need a total system overhaul if this is to change as nothing so far has worked and for the CJS its business as usual in failing victims www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It’s appalling that there had to be a judicial review in the first place. How dare the magistrates do this to the victim. Every part of the CJS does its utmost to work against victims

📣 FIRST POST ALERT 📣: I pretty much gave up on Twitter a while ago - tweeting less and less in recent years - but once it was a place which brought me joy (& some anguish). It was a place I could share articles I wrote, as well as my own observations about life: some tweets funnier than others.

So called “parental-alienation” has been the go-to counter allegation made by domestic abuse perps in the family court for years. Glad to see this guidance - lets ensure the courts actually follow it

This is good news. Unbelievable that a stalker’s ID could be kept from the victim in the first place. However it doesn’t address the major issue of the police not investigating these crimes properly or at all.
