Morning from 5live breakfast towers... we're getting excited about the start of Celebrity Traitors tonight and want to celebrate your little acts of treachery - whether it's changing sporting allegiances, or moving to a rival employer, or switching ketchup brands. Let's hear them...

More today on multiple accounts of acute malnutrition in Gaza - @beltrew.bsky.social told us there's 'no question there is mass starvation'.

Also - we're on the Lionesses hype train, and #IMO - people should talk on the phone, not just message (btw you can text us about that on 85058)
July 24, 2025 at 6:07 AM
Once again, put through the ringer by the Lionesses - but Sarina now through to her 5th consecutive international final - incredible achievement. Loads of reaction to that, and the passing of Ozzy Osbourne this morning @bbc5live.bsky.social

Plus #IMO - can we/should we persuade people to fly less?

The cost of all inclusive holidays is going up... and people are changing their travel plans to adapt for climate change. Meanwhile - should we ALL be doing more in our own communities to manage climate change - from solar panels to allotments? Join in the conversation @bbc5live.bsky.social

Some Bayeaux tapestry excitement on the programme this morning - plus we're trying to work out what makes a curd a curd. Our In My Opinion is about whether we should ditch PMQs - and we're building up to crunch time for England and Wales at the Women's Euros...

Back on the wireless today with @rickedwards1.bsky.social - looking ahead to Macron's state visit, the Post Office inquiry report, Cam Norrie up against Alcaraz at Wimbledon..

Frustrating day for Lioness and Wales fans yesterday. But both fans upbeat their teams will improve.

Here’s the stadium in Zurich yesterday before and during the game. The England fans around us were booed for not doing the Mexican wave - were they right to stand firm? 👋
July 6, 2025 at 6:34 AM
Here we are - all set to go from Zurich - one day to go before England and Wales’ women start their Euro 2025 campaigns. Live on @bbc5live from 6am

It's a good day! We're talking Women's Euros! We've got a new high quality mountain-based quiz! And Rick's back!

Plus a government minister will tell us how the PM will recover from his 'slow motion humiliation' (c Chris Mason) over welfare reform.

On your radio sets right now 📻

Morning. New figures show record numbers arriving in UK on small boats in 1st 6 months of year - reaction to that plus looking ahead to a big rebellion of Labour MPs over benefits reform this evening.

Our IMO - should we ban alcohol advertising?

And cheese really does give you nightmares. 🧀 5live

So the news today - pretty much focussed on the UK heatwave, the ongoing row over reform to benefits, and some Glastonbury fall out.

But the thing that's grabbed my attention - new stats on the decline of entry level jobs since launch of AI, which is all mildly (hugely) terrifying.

Hot weather probably front of mind for most people in the UK this morning. But we're also talking about the ramping up of discussions about US military invention in Iran - will they send in the bunker busters?

Plus it's time to end prejudice against short men! #IMO

Morning... how have hateful messages on social media become an inevitable part of life for female sports stars?

I've been speaking to England's Lionesses about the abuse they receive online and how they deal with it. Listen now on BBC 5live.

Hi... Some questions for you to ponder this morning.

* Is there any point in politicians apologising?
* Should patients ask permission before filming medical procedures?
* Should abortion beyond 24 weeks be decriminalised?
* How can we build water supply resilience (and use less water)?

Bangers across EU borders - how much does this new EU/UK deal benefit business here? Will it boost growth? Enhance security? Encourage closer ties and freedoms for young people? Or is it a sell out?
