Facebook is normally a cesspool but my lord I love the back-to-school photos.

You know, the tornadoes could have happened at a more reasonable hour. I was sound asleep. Rude.

Older lady at Costco called me a f-I g bitch this morning when it was stupid crowded and that was preventing her from making a beeline to the checkout. I mean she’s not wrong but like how did she know that? We’ve never met!

The great thing about wearing head phones while walking your dog is when you run into someone and you’re just not in the mood to talk, you can just give them the finger sign that you’re on the phone and continue to go about your walk listening to Rilo Kiley.

Ope, looks like my son forgot to bring his water bottle to school. Guess he has to go about his school day just like we did in the 80s and 90s, you know, ancient times.

Your 40s are great because it’s when spending quality time with a friend means meeting up at Costco on a Thursday morning at 10:30 to walk around every aisle when you both only need like five things.

Whoever decided to put that Rusted Root song in a television commercial, why do you hate us all so much?

Well, it happened. I’ve become one of those people who texts with my 60-year-old-something neighbor about bird sightings in the neighborhood.

I bet one of the most googled questions today is “can I freeze leftover ham?”

Today is a top tier day in Minneapolis. Jeans and T-shirt? Perfect. Shorts and a hoodie? Also fine. Tank dress? That works too. Not too hot, not too cold. No bugs yet. We are living our best lives here in the Twin Cities, if you will.

If it snows again this season it’s our fault — we just cleaned out the back porch and were uncovering the patio furniture.

I’ll tell ya what, taking your high school-aged son to your old college stomping grounds, showing him where you lived (and partied) and having lunch at one of your favorite spots and then going on a college tour is … wild.

It’s 10 am and if I have to listen to one more U2 song today, I’m going to … not like it.

Do you ever look at your cat and say, “Do you even realize how many whiskers you have coming out of your face?”

This jeans and hoodie weather is elite.

Woke up at 5:03 am with Survivor’s High on You in my head, naturally, as one does.

After 12 days in the hospital, which started off with my dad on death’s doorstep, today he graduated to transitional rehab. He still has a long road to full recovery, but it’s a huge step considering where he was. Please clap.

Well it happened. My 16yo son came home from school and told me he’s now the guitarist in a band.

You know, there are a whole lotta storyline flaws in the original Karate Kid movie.
