Nice seeing friends on here ❤️ I intend to stay camouflaged on Bluesky, so please don’t use my real name, bring up identifying info on my posts, etc. I’ve had hate speech and threats for being queer and antinationalist on FB/IG. Don’t want to let them win, but must be careful! They’re getting bolder.
With my Quaker roots, I’ve always intended to be a CO if they bring back the draft. One of very few scenarios I’d consider complying: a land invasion of the US. Do I now need to consider if I’d aid the war effort of Canada, Mexico, or Greenland/Denmark/EU against the USA?

To don my tinfoil linguist hat, did you know the heads of the Republic of Venice, drawn from its richest merchant families, were called “Doge”? Love the Serenissima; still not something to emulate. It’s etymologically the same as “Duce”, so right at the roots of fascism. Coincidence? [Me in Venice]

The hierarchical pyramid structure is the quality of most businesses they really mean to emulate. They want an all-powerful CEO/dictator, all the labor of the workers but no real power for them, and to formalize a structure that siphons off most of the value for “shareholders”, i.e. oligarchs.
