I don't particularly like Wonderwall, but that song has such deep nostalgia attached to it that even a cover version can set me off crying for a past that will never return.

Finished off 2024 with a 5 and a bit kilometre run. Went surprisingly well considering it's been more than a month since my last run.

Got my ass to the gym today. Almost empty, which I expect won't be the case after New Year's, when all the resolutionists will turn up for a week or two (though there is a new gym opening nearby, so hopefully they'll go there).

Rewatching E.R. is kind of great. It still holds up amazingly as a medical drama, but you also see actors turn up now and then in guest roles who you'd forgotten were on that show.
Lucy Liu was in a few episodes, and here's Robert Picardo as a notary.
Love this show! Still a favourite even now.

Rewatching E.R. is kind of great. It still holds up amazingly as a medical drama, but you also see actors turn up now and then in guest roles who you'd forgotten were on that show.

This was in 2020. Do we still use that ridiculous way of saying 'not super thin' in 2024? Because, really. 'Extended' seems even worse than 'plus size' to me.

I did not think that I would end up #running 5K today. Started out feeling sluggish and weak (the first mile is a liar!), but then got to around 3K feeling great and decided to go another kilometer. Got to 4K and could definitely get to 5K. The first #5K in way too long of a time. So good day today!

Today's run was only a little over 3 km. I was frustrated because my interval timer wasn't working. Why wasn't it working? Because apparently my new Samsung Galaxy decided that some apps don't need to run properly with the screen turned off. But I still got the run done.

I'm watching Culinary Class Wars on Netflix and today I learned about mukbang. I... what? People actually enjoy watching videos of people eating?! I'm sorry, but I just can't even with that. But then I really cannot stand listening to people chewing. 🤢

My internet was down for a couple of days and I was going out of my mind (mostly because my phone sucks for streaming, etc). It made me wonder how we survived the 80s and 90s without any internet at all...
