Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change—all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.

This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

I admire Rep McBride, and this is (in part) why. I know that many trans people and activists disagree, sometimes harshly, with how she has chosen to deal with the attacks on her, and I am in no position to judge. But she does always deserve credit for willingly putting herself in the line of fire.
Sarah McBride rarely centers her identity as a trans woman. Republicans do that for her. So when she steps to the microphone and talks about "21 years of unwavering homesickness," it means something. @mcbride.house.gov www.readtpa.com/p/watch-rep-...

WTF is this? Remind me again which side has an antisemitism problem?
Because of the Trump Administration’s policies, the Coast Guard will no longer call swastikas & nooses hate symbols. They’re just “potentially divisive.”

Not a warning. Not a mistake. This is normalizing hatred – and it puts service members’ safety & our country’s soul at risk.
U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

This is such an insightful and incisive conversation about advocating for trans rights in a way that moves the ball forward. I was very impressed with what Rep. McBride had to say.
Today’s episode of The Ezra Klein Show.

Representative Sarah McBride reckons with the trans rights movement’s shortcomings, and how to win hearts and minds through a politics of grace.

Have you questioned your entire career today? 😭

Decimating STEM education in the US makes no fucking sense.
I am thinking a lot today about how heavy things feel in my world of faculty doing scientific research. There's the immediate chaos and panic about our ability to pay people and continue our research. But there's also a deeper grief at watching everything get bulldozed for no reason
