Here's the progression from my first attempt at a self portrait around 6 months ago, and the updated one that I made this weekend! I started drawing (consistently) back in January.

My original self portrait! I took a photo of myself for the silhouette, and tried to match it as much as possible. It's pretty flat in colors with minimal shading. An orange gradient in the background complements my brown skin, I think?

Final draft of my most recent self portrait! It has some things that are of interest to me coming out of my noggin, hehe. A playstation controller, some twizzlers, a piece of corn, a jelly bean, and a headpiece from one of my favorite shows, Naruto. I chose the hidden cloud village because that's where all the black people are. Orange gradient in the back!
