The Sioux City man detained by ICE on Wednesday was convicted in 2006 of manslaughter in a case involving a 10-month-old after pleading guilty. He was released in 2011 and was deported. He subsequently had a minor traffic violation in Woodbury County in 2021 and was charged with trying to illegally re-enter the country in 2023.
