In retrospect, our species may have peaked in 1992 when Betty White and Don Cheadle were on a sitcom together.
Possibly the only common ground that exists in country right now is the shared contempt of Ted Cruz.

Sure, affordable housing would be great and all, but Trump adding new Flag Poles on both sides of the White House is an economic game-changer.*

*For the contractors installing them.**

**Unless Trump stiffs them too.

“Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power and influence that really threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedom.” Joe Biden warned everyone.

I was today years old when I learned there was a live action adaptation of “A Year Without A Santa Claus.” What other revelations will 2025 bring?

Prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, obstruction of Congress? Seems about right for Trump’s Almost-Nominee for Attorney General.

Cases of whooping cough in Michigan are at their highest level in at least 20 years, as vaccinations decline. The disease can be deadly to infants. Alarmed by the increase, doctors are pleading for families to vaccinate their children.

I wonder why that is?

When Hegseth’s nomination falls, that’s going to be three failed cabinet appointees before we even make it to inauguration.

So much for a well-oiled machine.

New clowns, same circus.

Looking forward to another series of strongly worded letters from Schumer as democracy crumbles around him.
Update: Chuck Schumer is unanimously reelected minority leader in the Senate.

We suck.

Shoppers spent a record $10.8 billion online on Friday, over 10% more than they did last Black Friday.

Then on Saturday they ate only toast and cursed Joe Biden, because eggs were too expensive…

A key asymmetry of this era of American politics and how it’s covered is that Trump is expected to do bad and corrupt things, so when he does it barely qualifies as news. But Dems are expected to be beyond reproach, so anything that seems even slightly suspect is a huge scandal.

We have to stop fantasizing that if we are good little boys and girls they won’t destroy us.
A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

Step 2: Republicans break all the rules

Step 3: Republicans win
