My partner finished FFVII Rebirth during the holidays and for some reason Red XIII stood out to me. Must be the contrast of his rendering vs his polygonal self in the original game.

Thinking about some of the stuff I want to accomplish this year, and it just becomes a bit disheartening how much of it "relies on other people".
Especially when I've know that I can't "rely on other people".
I can try to work on myself as best I can, but that's not always enough.

You know, aside from vague attempts at tent-based baking, I think my one “Baking Goal of the Year” is to just nail down croissants and danishes. Each time I keep getting closer, but not QUITE. Especially getting danishes to maintain shape. But yeah, that’s the goal this year.

Mille-Feuille, filled with a Biscoff and white chocolate Crème Diplomate
Two of my old foes. Pastry ended up a smidge underbaked (I blame my oven :P). Creme ended up alright, but probably could ramped up the spices. At least starting the year off okay enough in my books.

Trying to fit in somewhere where it's clear I just don't fit in. Trying to improve things, but feeling too tired to do more, and then tired and frustrated that I can't do more.
