Sonic brings his hand to his muzzle, rubbing his chin with newfound pride. Sonic: "Ya know, I'm not always in a rush! I can take it slow." Shadow let out an amused huff. Shadow: "You? Taking it slow? I'll believe it when I see it." - 15 MINUTES LATER - Sonic and Shadow arrive at a large lake within the cover of the forest. The moon hung high in the sky, casting its pale light across the water. Tall trees framed the scene, their dark silhouettes swaying in the calm wind. The stars shined brightly, and the fireflies danced throughout. Sonic ambled to the lakes edge, then proceeded to sit himself down. He pats the ground, looking over to Shadow. Sonic: "Hey Shadow, sit with me." Shadow quietly walks over to sonic. (Spelling error in first panel, **this** not thes) Shadow sits down next to Sonic, facing forward as he looks across the lake. Sonic looks up at the stars, admiring their beauty with a smile. Sonic: "It's views like this that make all the running worthwhile." Shadow glances over to Sonic, keeping himself quiet for a moment. He looks forward once again, bringing his knees up to his chest and holding his arms around them. Shadow: "You always find a way to enjoy life, do you..?" Sonic keeps his smile as he turns to Shadow, his expression soft and understanding. Sonic: "It's easier when you've got someone by your side... Especially on a starry night, just like this one." Sonic moves himself closer, beginning to close his eyes. Sonic brings himself into Shadow for a kiss. Shadow is shocked by the sudden bold move, however he is quick to calm himself. His eyes beginning to shut, he lifts his hand up to hold it upon Sonics face. Sonic places his own hands on Shadows, as they both share a passionate kiss under the stars. After a minute, they break away their kiss. Shadow smiles, his expression is soft. Shadow: "Always the one to take the leap. Never change, Sonic." Sonic leans on Shadow as they both admire the moonlit lake. Sonic: "I wouldn't change a thing." - END -

Sonic walks ahead with his arms behind his head, while Shadow lags behind a short distance with his arms crossed. Sonic looks back, a brow raised. Sonic: β€œDidn’t expect you to stick around for this long, Shads!” Shadow spaces out, thinking about his time with Maria and how she always talked about the stars. **Look at the stars Shadow! Aren’t they beautiful?** Shadow stops and looks out to the open field, it was brightly lit by the moon where a mountain was visible from afar. He scoffs at Sonics comment. Shadow: β€œJust making sure you don’t get lost. …your brain functions like a three year old kid…” Sonic laughs at Shadows comment, not taking him seriously. He turns around to face Shadow, pointing at him with his index finger, giving a slight smirk. Sonic: β€œSince when do you care about where I’m going?” Sonic questioned, Shadow scoffs again with annoyance. He looks away, his expression softening. Shadow: β€œβ€¦It’s not about that.” Sonic has a shocked expression, seeing the black hedgehogs demeanor change. Sonic faces him completely, curious about what Shadow was thinking. Shadow turns his face away. Sonic: β€œShadow? Something on your mind bud?” Shadow snaps his head forward, back to his agitated self. Shadow: β€œYou’re always rushing ahead and so full of yourself!” He looks down as he began to calm himself down. Shadow held his hand to his chest, slightly flustered. Shadow: β€œβ€¦So much so, that… You miss what’s besides you sometimes…” Sonic is caught off guard by this version of Shadow, becoming flustered himself. Sonic expressed a wide grin. He crosses his arms and raised his brow. Sonic: β€œThat’s very sentimental Shadow, even for you! Slowing me down when I get too ahead of myself hmm?” Sonic approached Shadow, nudging him with his hand. Sonic: β€œJust so you know, I’m really glad you’re here. I can’t imagine a world without you.” Shadows eyes widen as his cheeks grow hot as his heart flutters. He turns away to hide his blush. Shadow: β€œβ€¦ You too…” Sonic and Shadow continue on their path, Shadow following closely.
