This looks a good read! We think that quality, community-centric, participatory local news is a vital part of social infrastructure. Regenerating local news will improve the accessibility and trustworthiness of important civic information when acute crises hit.
Lovely report from @theyoungfdn.bsky.social on the importance of involving people and communities in developing crisis response and recovery.

Particularly like @helengou.bsky.social's personal introduction; the fact the exec summary is called "TL;DR"; and references to a monkey in Sri Lanka.
Community, not catastrophe | The Young Foundation
When disaster strikes, local people and communities step up. This report calls for them to be recognised as part of our Critical National Infrastructure in times of crisis.
