In Scotland, children and young people in primary and secondary school are being offered the flu vaccine. Given as a nasal spray, it’s quick, painless and feels like a tickle in their nose.

Our latest annual HPV immunisation report shows that uptake remains lower than rates seen prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

HPV is a common virus, usually spread through sexual contact, and responsible for almost all cases of cervical cancer.

Vaccines continue to be the most effective way to protect people from serious, life-threatening diseases.

Thanks to vaccines, diseases like smallpox, polio, and tetanus, that were once responsible for millions of deaths and disabilities, have been eliminated or drastically reduced.
